CPMZ Welcomes The High Commissioner Of Zambia To Mozambique

Companhia do Pipeline Moçambique-Zimbabwe (CPMZ) had the honour of welcoming the High Commissioner of Zambia to Mozambique, Mr. Derick Livume, at the Beira Pumping Station.

During the visit, the High Commissioner observed first-hand that CPMZ operates state-of-the-art infrastructure, recognising the strategic role of the Beira Corridor as an energy solution for Zambia: the country’s economic growth and fuel demand can rely on a supply route that is becoming increasingly reliable, secure and competitive.

The High Commissioner also showed particular interest in CPMZ’s ambitious expansion plan, which saw the pipeline’s capacity increase from 2 to 3 million m³ in 2024 and is now moving into a second phase towards 5 million m³ by 2027. Looking ahead, plans also include replacing the current pipeline with a larger-diameter pipe capable of meeting regional demand for decades to come. Discussions also covered the potential future extension of the pipeline from Harare to Lusaka, which could further strengthen the reach of the Beira Corridor into the heart of Zambia and the Copperbelt.

The High Commissioner also welcomed the announcement that CPMZ will host The Beira Corridor Forum in Livingstone this October, an initiative aimed at reviewing the latest developments and planned investments for the Beira Corridor.

The visit reinforces Zambia’s recognition of CPMZ’s role in ensuring regional energy security, at a time when the Company continues to invest in operational and technological excellence, supported by a team of highly qualified, 100% Mozambican technical professionals.
