The Future Of The Beira Corridor Takes Another Decisive Step On 2nd September
In just one month’s time, CPMZ will mark the groundbreaking of two new pumping stations, an investment that will support the next increase in the capacity of the Companhia do Pipeline Moçambique-Zimbabwe (CPMZ) pipeline.
This second phase of CPMZ’s Expansion Plan will increase the capacity of the Beira–Feruka pipeline to 5 million m³ of fuel per year, building on the first phase completed in 2024, which increased capacity from 2 to 3 million m³ annually.

The new pumping stations, located in Nhamatanda (Sofala Province) and Messica (Manica Province), will further strengthen the pipeline’s role as a strategic asset of the Beira Corridor and a key contributor to energy security across Southern Africa.
At the same time, Petrozim Line (PZL) is carrying out a matching expansion of the Feruka–Harare section through a coordinated programme with synchronised implementation schedules.

The September 2nd ceremony marks another milestone in strengthening the Beira Corridor as the safest, most efficient and competitive logistics solution for supplying Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, the DRC, Botswana and the wider hinterland.
